First Light at Ste Marie Among the Hurons

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

FIRST LIGHT event at Ste. Marie Among the Hurons, Tay Township, Simcoe County, Ontario, Canada.

Ste.Marie Among the Hurons is a reconstructed fortified French Mission that existed for ten years among the Huron nation. It was burned in 1649 during the Huron – Iroquois War. St. Jean de Brebeuf SJ worked and lived here.

First Light is an annual event at Ste. Marie in late November when thousands of candles and lanterns are set up on paths and in buildings on the site. A great family event.
